SCHOOL PROGRAM AND POLICIESThe Ed Waldrum School of Neon, located in Irving, Texas, offers anyone entering the field of neon glass blowing a rare opportunity to learn the technique and art of this highly specialized trade. Taught by Ed Waldrum, a professional in the field for more than 50 years, each student will receive one-on-one instruction in the proven methods of neon glass bending, bombarding and pumping, pattern making, neon wiring and installation.
The six week course consists of 240 hours of intensive training. Additionally, students will have the option to attend two 3-week extended follow-up sessions after completing the six week course. The first follow-up session begins three months after graduation, and the second session starts six months later.
Upon graduating from the six week program, students will be able to purchase instructive VCR tapes of what they were taught in school, allowing them not to acquire bad habits. Also they can call Ed for assistance with any technical questions they may have while working on the job.
Classes will be scheduled from 8:00 a.m.-Noon and from 1:00-5:00p.m. Monday through Friday. Students are accepted on a first come, first served basis.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
All students applying for enrollment are required to be in good health; have the ability to stand on their feet; possess good hand/eye coordination, and be able to focus their attention and concentrate heavily. While enrolled at the school, all students will conduct themselves in a mature fashion. Unexcused tardiness and/or absences, smoking, alcohol or drug use are strictly prohibited.
As students will be working with gas burners and electricity, it is imperative that each individual observe all precautionary guidelines and show regard for the safety of fellow classmates. Gum chewing and the use of Walkman radios during class is not permitted. Violations of any of these school policies are grounds for dismissal. Probationary periods and/or class extensions will be granted by the instructor and allowed only in the event of unforeseen accident or illness. If a student is dismissed for disciplinary reasons, he or she will not be re-scheduled in a future class. Any student who does not attend classes for a period of 8 consecutive class days without explanation is considered to have withdrawn from the school. If an individual has had previous training in the field, the school will take this into consideration. The student will be evaluated to determine the amount of training he or she will need. If the instructor feels that the individual need not be present during certain lessons due to previous training, the school will give credit accordingly to the individual.
