Welcome to the School..........

The Ed Waldrum School of
Neon is located in Irving, Texas. The school accommodates up to four students
per session allowing for a cohesive learning environment.
Each student is supplied with their own bending table, ribbon fire, and
three-headed Waldrum exclusive cross fire. Emphasis on glass bending
techniques is paramount. Students are introduced to a multitude of glass
bending methods and are required to work with a variety of glass types and
diameters. The basics of neon glass bending, with one-on-one instruction, will
become your edifice for all future learning and exploration.
The class offers numerous opportunities for learning. A small sampling
of what you will learn includes:

Recognizing and making
solid welds, right angles, double backs, drops, and raises.

Creating single stroke and
outline letters in various sizes.

Bending connected and
individual letters, including PK Fitting techniques, and neon border.
-
Processing neon glass,
blocking out, and the basics of neon sign construction.
-
Discussions about pattern
making, wiring, equipment set-up, and many other industry related topics.

Visiting local neon shops
- commercial and retail.
